Reflection on constructive tool.
As a teacher trainee, I have explored variety of ICT tools, and Google Docs tend to stand out as an efficient constructive tool that fosters active engagement when it comes to teaching and learning. Although I have not yet had the opportunity to experience using Google Docs wit actual students, my experience with Google Docs has helped me understand the value in an educational setting that this tool has.
Google Docs allows users to create, edit and share documents through online. One of the most influential features of this tool is its real-time collaboration feature. While working in groups for assignments or also lesson plans with my peers, I found it very helpful that all the members could work on a single document and contribute at the same time, suggests things to edit and also leave comments. This experience game me a good understanding of how such a tool can support the construction of knowledge through shared thinking and peer collaboration.
From a Constructivist perspective, Google Docs encourages students to take ownership of their own learning. Instead of working on their own, students are engaged in meaningful discussions, solving problems and construction knowledge together. For instead, while working on a lesson plan in groups, me and my peers discusses ideas in the comment section, revised our content based on feedback, and improved the quality of the work overall. This not only helped us understand the content but also build our teamwork and communication skills.
I believe that in a real classroom setting, Google Docs can be utilized to support writing tasks, collaborative projects, peer review, and reflective activities. It is useful especially in promoting active participation and allowing students to build on each other’s ideas. However, I am also aware of some limitations that might arise, such as limited access to the internet or lack of digital literacy among the students. As a future teacher, I might need to take these factors into consideration and provide appropriate guidance and support.
In conclusion, Google Docs is a valuable constructive tool that matches will with the principles of student-centered learning. My experience as a trainee has shown me its potential to make learning more interactive, reflective, and collaborative.
